MacUpdate.com - Volume Slider
At MacUpdate.com, there is an application that adjusts system volume. It is called Volume Slider. You can put it anywhere on your screen. So if there is no way that you can get a louder volume on your Mac Mini, the Volume Slider is the freeware that you should choose.

Getting the External DVD Drive to Work
When I first hooked up my external DVD drive to the mac mini, I had a hard time getting the DVD to work. The DVD was not being recognized and would not play. So I tried unplugging the power cord and flipping it around. Then I plugged it back into the drive. Then a message popped up saying that I needed to change the region code of the drive. When I did that, the DVD drive began to play and burn DVDs. I think that it is important to make sure that your power chord is plugged in right and that your drive is getting enough power too.
Creating a DVD
There is something on the Mac Mini that will allow you to burn DVDs. However, you want to make sure that you are burning the DVD to play on your television and computer. You may need to get some extra software that will allow you to create for both of them. I do not see any DVD creator freeware online for the Mac. Either it's a trial version or you have to buy it. If the software is free to download, most likely it is not free to keep.

The Mac and VueScan 9 Software
After switching an HP printer from Windows to Mac, I just knew that it would not work. When I hooked it up to the Mac Mini, there was no sign of it working. I thought, "It's got to work". The Mac did not recognize the scanner. I needed an up-to-date software to make the scanner work. When I searched for a better software, I found software called VueScan 9. Before I knew it, my scanner was noisy and working. It was making strange sounds that I had never heard before, but the scanner was in better shape than before. When I had it hooked up to Windows, it would stall and cut off. The USB port was not being recognized. It would take some time to get started.
It is true what is said about VueScan scanner software. It is a great replacement for the software that came with your scanner. It helps you to get the most out of your scanner. If you are thinking about getting a Mac, you don't have to worry about as much as you think you do. It's still like having Windows but in my opinion, I think things are just a little better from my experience so far.

Using HP Deskjet D1520 with the Mac
Are you changing from Windows 7 OS to Mac OS? Are you worried about arrangements for your printer? When You hook your printer up to the Mac Mini with a USB port, the Mac Mini will search for your printer software and download it in an instant. Before you know it, your printer is working.
An HP Deskjet D1520 works well with the Mac Mini. This happens to be one of the printers that I am familiar with and has tried with the Mac. I was sure that it wouldn't work with the Mac Mini, but it fooled me. I thought a whole new printer was needed. It would be dumb to have to go out and buy a whole new printer when there is nothing wrong with the printer that you have. Thank goodness the HP Deskjet is compatible with the Mac Mini.

Synopsis
CCleaner and Mac Mini
Google Image |
Using Windows Vista, I have always used CCleaner. Did you know there was a CCleaner for Mac mini? When you use the CCleaner for the Mac, it is a little different. In the uninstall section, I only see one freeware icon in the list. It is in the applications folder with other applications, but only one application shows. Maybe it is because that one particular application has been used and the rest of them has not. Using Windows Vista, the CCleaner shows your whole control panel. I do not think that the Mac Mini has a control panel. Other than that, CCleaner cleans the Mac mini the same way it would using Windows Vista's operating system.
